Special session at LUWQ2019 on bioeconomy and water resources

Next year, the LAND USE AND WATER QUALITY (LUWQ) Conference will be held in Århus, Denmark (3-6 June 2019). LuWQ2019 is an international and interdisciplinary conference on the cutting edge of science, management and policy, to minimise effects of agriculture and land use changes on the quality of groundwater and surface waters.

BIOWATER is convening a special session on Land and water management for a sustainable bioeconomy. This is a wide field of science with several sub-topics, including development of scenarios; reference (or natural) conditions; effects on water quality and quantity of the bioeconomy; mitigation measures; and impacts on ecosystem services (see more detailed descriptions at http://www.luwq2019.dk/special_sessions). Our aim is to provide an arena for exchange of research methodologies and results within these topics.

The Special Session will be convened by Eva Skarbøvik (NIBIO, Norway), Jan Vermaat (NMBU, Norway) and Brian Kronvang, (Aarhus University, Denmark). A special issue based on the presentations is under planning.

Deadline for abstracts are 15 October 2018. See more on LUWQ’s web-page.
